Mrs. Sherry Lin Smith Valliere, age 49, of Swainsboro, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Community Hospice in Vidalia. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 30, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Shannon Boula officiating. Interment followed at Eastbrook Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday, November 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Patrick Valliere, David Smith, Kenneth Owen Conley, William Kenneth Conley, Louis Thompson and Chris McCormick.

Sherry was born May 4, 1974, in Taipei, Taiwan, to the late Larry Smith and Cathy Lin Smith. She graduated from East Georgia Community College, and also received a master’s in history and a minor in Japanese at Georgia Southern College. Sherry had a genuine servant’s heart with a passion to uplift people with her humor and quick wit. She loved to laugh and make people laugh. Sherry was a humble humanitarian by nature. She loved to cook for those she loved and was always ready for a culinary and travel adventure. Sherry loved the company in travel as much as the trip. She was a huge fan of all things Disney. Sherry loved her family and friends fiercely with all of her heart and was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Valliere is preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Valliere is survived by her husband, Patrick Valliere of Swainsboro; brother, David Smith of Lyons; mother-in-law, Mary Youngblood of Swainsboro; father-in-law, Noel J. Valliere, Sr. of Alabama; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
