The Kalmanson Gallery of Emanuel Arts Council will feature artwork by thirteen students in Group 1080 of East Georgia State College. This unique art show will feature Smartphone Photography. Opening reception for the show will be July 18th, from 5 to 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The exhibition is on display now through August.
Artists featured in this exhibition include Aisha Colbert, Alex McDonald, Alicia Harris, Azareyah Leeks, Brianna Johnsen, Carl Harris, Garrett Peebles, Gracy Chavis, Isay Gonzalez-Juarez, Jayse Yelder, Joel Jones, Keanu Walters, and Ty-Sean Morgan-Ford.
These students participated in a Smartphone Photography class at East Georgia State College. “I am impressed with the wide range of creative works produced by the students. Group 1080 has put a great deal of time and energy into seeing their creative vision through,” said EGSC art professor Desmal Purcell, who is also The Kalmanson Gallery director. “And it is impressive to know that they are using a tool that most of us carry around in our back pocket. I am really proud of what they have accomplished here.”
The Kalmanson Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday, 12 noon to 3 p.m. or by appointment. For updates and more information on programming, find Emanuel Arts Council on Facebook and Instagram.
