Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Susan “Susie” Bryant, age 78, of Swainsboro, on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, January 21, at 2 p.m. in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tom Tidwell officiating. Entombment followed in the Eastbrook Cemetery & Mausoleum. The family received friends Saturday, January 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were C. J. Bryant, Dusty Jones, Caleb Jones, Jason Scott, Gracen Fail, Dylan Ward, Damon Ward, Seth Willis and Nollan Scott.

Mrs. Bryant was born in St. Petersburg, FL, to the late Albert and Mae Littlefield Fleming. She was the owner and operator of “B’s Diner” for twenty plus years. Susie was not only a secretary at Carl’s Used Cars, but she was also her husband, Mr. Carl’s, “Right Hand Man”. She enjoyed reading cookbooks and loved to cook. Susie’s additional hobbies included crocheting and cross stitching. She also loved to travel. Susie’s favorite places to go were the Smoky Mountains and to the beach. Mrs. Bryant is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mr. Carl Bryant; son, Carl “Buck” Bryant; and brother, Clarence Fleming.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Jones (Alan) of Chatsworth and Linda Hairr (Johnny) of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Jason Scott (Amber), CJ Bryant, Dusty Jones (Shannon), Delaine Evans (Todd) and Lisa Payne (Tommy); 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family; and Caregiver, Melissa Radford.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 365, Swainsboro, GA. 30401 or the local animal shelter at 323 Market Street, Swainsboro, GA. 30401.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
