The Swainsboro Fire Department understands the importance of staying ready for the Citizens. This preparation consists of doing things that require them to be fit for duty. One of the ways this is accomplished is that once a week, the Swainsboro Fire Department goes out to Swainsboro High School and uses the Stadium bleachers to condition themselves for the physical demands of firefighting.

“We are truly appreciative of the high school for allowing us to use the stadium to remain for this conditioning that brings comradery amongst the firefighters. With all of us out there in the heat training together, this allows a bond to be built that will be truly needed when things go wrong,” Chief Mims stated. Chief Mims leads by example by being out here with his crew and showing them that they’re in this together! “The citizens don’t think twice about whether we can do the job or not, so why not give them the reassurance by being what they believe us to be!” commented Chief Mims.
