The Veterans at the Library held their weekly meeting Monday morning, January 20, at 9 a.m. at Veteran Terry Reynolds’s clubhouse, Mont Royal. With Chair Johnny Tapley presiding, they had 31 in attendance. Veteran Reynolds and his daughter-in-law, Amanda Reynolds, fed the Veterans breakfast casserole, sausage, grits, donuts, muffins and all the trimmings, plus orange juice, grape juice, apple juice and coffee. Amanda’s son, Hoage, is a member of the U.S. Air Force stationed in Missouri. Chair Johnny talked about their plans for this year’s “Veterans Cup Golf Tournament” with the proposed date of Saturday, May 17. He also stated that next year’s wreaths have been ordered and in November 2025, any extra will be ordered. Chair John then called on knife drawing chairman Wayne Canady to handle the drawing. Wayne got Veteran Scotty Nasworthy to pull the winning ticket which was Veteran David Hill. The next meeting will be at the Franklin Memorial Library on Monday, January 28. Veteran Emory Fennell closed with a prayer.
