George “Bill” Howell Carrick, age 72, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Swainsboro on Friday, January 3, 2025, surrounded by the love and support of his devoted wife of 35 years, Karen Carrick.

Born August 23, 1952, in Augusta, to the late William “Bill” Carrick and Mae Saxon Carrick, Bill was a man of many passions and remarkable talents. With an infectious personality and a deep love for his family, Bill was a true family man at heart. His warmth and charm touched all who knew him, and he was known for his strong bonds with those closest to him: his wife, Karen; stepchildren, Shane and Shannon; and his beloved grandchildren, Dylan and Annabelle.

Bill’s lifelong love for sports, hunting and fishing was matched only by his extraordinary intellect and work ethic. A true natural in the glass industry, his photographic memory, sharp mathematical mind and relentless dedication made him an invaluable asset throughout his career. His expertise and commitment left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to work alongside him.

Bill’s love for life, his family and the simple joys of the outdoors will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in his children, grandchildren and the countless friends whose lives were enriched by his presence. George “Bill” Carrick will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Survivors include his wife, Karen E. Carrick; children, Christopher Shane McLain (Angie) and Shannon G. Carroca (Joe); grandchildren, Dylan McLain and Annabelle E. Carroca; brother, Jimmy Carrick (Patsy); and sisters, Brenda Findlay, Ruth Thomas (Billy) and Mary Ellen Hill.

Tomlinson Funeral Home & Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
