Lyna Bell Dillard, 91

Lyna Bell Dillard, age 91, was granted eternal rest and peace on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, July 25, at 11 a.m. at Piney Grove Missionary Batist Church with Rev. Anderson Carsell officiating.

Lyna was born June 6, 1935, in Emanuel Couty, to the late Jonas and Mosella Givens. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Leroy Dillard, and to this union, five children were born. Lyna loved her family, life and mankind. She was meek, kind-hearted, and willing to do whatever she could to help others. Lyna loved children and was one of the best employees for Emanuel Conty Headstart and supervisor for the Feed a Kid Program held at Piney Grove for the Cross-Green Community. Mrs. Dillard is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Melvin and Leonard; five brothers; three sisters, and one granddaughter.

Mrs. Dillard leaves her memories with her children, Jimmy Dillard (Cassandra), Eric Dillard (Angelia) and Reginald Dillard; one brother; one sister; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
