Sis. Annie Ruth Lamb Burnette, age 91, was invited to a private affair held in her honor between her and the Lord on January 5, 2024. A Celebration of Life was held Wednesday, January 10, at 3 p.m. at St. Philip Baptist Church with Rev. James E. Love officiating. Interment followed in Swainsboro City Cemetery.

Ruth was born June 13, 1932, in Lyons, to the late Jim Lamb and Ruth Ellen Chapple Lamb Wilson. Upon completion of high school at Swainsboro High & Industrial on June 2, 1952, Ruth was employed at Emanuel County Hospital/Emanuel Medical Center until she relocated to Hartford, CT in 1957. Ruth retired from St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center May 1, 1994, as a Nursing Assistant and LPN. After retirement, she returned to Swainsboro and volunteered her time and services at Emanuel Medical Center and the local food pantry. Miss Burnette is preceded in death by her parents; and beloved sisters, Pauline Hubert and Carnell Lamb.

Miss Burnette leaves behind to cherish her memories with her nieces, nephew, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, great-great-great nieces and nephews and godchildren. She held a special place in her heart for Robert and Elaine Yordan and Robert Andrew Yordan, Jr., all of CT.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
