Tomlinson Funeral Home announces the death of Charles Edwin Hood, age 90, of Swainsboro, on Friday, July 31, 2026, at his residence. Memorial services will be Saturday, August 8, at 2 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Family will receive friends at Kingdom Hall one hour prior to the time of services.
Charles was born in Emanuel County to the late Joe and Marie Jones Hood. He was a retired salesman. Charles was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Swainsboro. Mr. Hood is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billie Hood; and brothers, Wadell Hood and Jerry Hood.
Survivors include his daughter, Terri Murray (Brock) of Kite; son, Tim Hood of Swainsboro; granddaughters, Anna Boatright (Will) of Swainsboro, Avery Williams of Macon, Janessa Arellanes (Abdi) of Swainsboro and Jennifer Corbin (Randell) of Lawrenceville; great-grandchildren, Jude Kersey, Nora Kersey and Luca Arellanes; sisters, Susie Coleman (Frank) of Kite and Frances Kitchens of Smith’s Station, AL; brother, Robert Hood (Ann) of Kite; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
