Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce proudly introduced Michael Appeadu, MD, Interventional Pain Management Specialist, to the community with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Optim Health System clinic on Thursday, February 1. The event marked the opening of new avenues for residents to receive advanced interventional pain management services right in the heart of Swainsboro at 119 B Victory Drive.

Dr. Michael Appeadu is a Dartmouth College alumnus and an Emory University School of Medicine graduate. He brings to the community a wealth of knowledge and experience, having honed his expertise with a residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial and a fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Appeadu’s specialized approach to pain management offers hope to patients suffering from conditions such as sciatica, arthritis, chronic or acute pain, and more.

The ceremony was well-attended by Optim Health System staff, Emanuel Hospital’s CEO and leadership team members, Chamber Board Members and Ambassadors, and other area medical providers. The attendees had the opportunity to hear Dr. Appeadu share his enthusiasm for joining the Swainsboro community, his love for local cuisine, and an interesting tidbit about his musical talent as a former clarinet player in the Atlanta symphony.

Dr. Appeadu discussed the interventional procedures he offers and affirmed his commitment to providing care in Swainsboro, available on the first and third Thursday of every month. His comprehensive approach and dedication to patient care come as a significant addition to the healthcare offerings in the region.

The presence of such a highly qualified specialist in interventional pain management is a significant boon for the community of Emanuel County. Dr. Appeadu’s expertise is expected to provide relief and improve the quality of life for many patients grappling with debilitating pain. The chamber and residents alike express their warm welcome and best wishes for Dr. Appeadu’s practice in Swainsboro.
