Mrs. Frances Marion Stroud, 88, of Swainsboro, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Emanuel Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 24, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in Swainsboro City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, at Chapman Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stroud was born May 23, 1935, to the late Robert Portwood and Adele Lockhart Portwood. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 68 years, Delmer Stroud; brothers, Rollie Portwood and Lonnie Portwood; and sister, Carol Berry.
Mrs. Stroud is survived by her daughters, Linda Stroud of Dellwood and Becki Stroud of Clarks Hill, SC; brother, Glen Portwood (Carole) of Macon; sister, Margaret McGowan of Grovetown; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
