Kenneth L. Harper, 86

Kenneth L. Harper, age 86, of Midville, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at his residence. Graveside Service was held Thursday, September 17, at 10 a.m. at Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Mark Hardin officiating.

Pallbearers were Justin Sumner, Brandon Hutchison, Kenny Hutchison and Colby Martin.

Kenneth was born March 29, 1940, in Millen, to the late Orin Kenneth Harper and Kate Eloise Johnson Harper. He was a good man whose kind heart and friendly nature touched the lives of many. A proud Air Force veteran, Kenneth was honored to have served his country and carried that pride with him throughout his life.

Kenneth was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves and loved cheering on the ECI Bulldogs. He never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel welcome wherever he went. His easygoing personality, kindness, and willingness to talk with anyone made him someone people were always glad to know. Above all, Kenneth loved his family dearly. They were the center of his world, and the love he had for them was evident in everything he did. Kenneth will be remembered as a loving family man, a loyal friend, and simply a good man who made a difference in the lives of those around him. Mr. Harper is preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Tara Hutchison.

Mr. Harper is survived by his wife of 65 years, JoAnne Black Harper of Midville; son, Joe Harper of Midville; grandchildren, Jessica Sumner (Justin) of Twin City, Brandon Hutchison of Milledgeville, Heather Martin (Colby) of Dellwood and Kenny Hutchison of Swainsboro; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
