The Swainsboro Rotary Club met at the Rustic Grill on Monday, July 27, during the noon hour with President Morgan Boulineau calling the meeting to order following lunch. There was no old business, but the club did mention the bookbag drive that was held last weekend and what a great success it was. Herman Middlebrooks introduced the speakers for the meeting, Melissa Kirby and Michael Harden. Melissa is the downtown development manager for Swainsboro and gave an update on projects that are going on downtown and the upcoming events for the Fall season. Michael is the manager for the Karrah Theater and updated the club on all the activities that have been going on at the Theatre including new movies, educational programs and many more activities that are available to the community and surrounding counties. The theater now has season passes for anyone interested.
