Lady Eagles roll past Fullington Academy

David Emanuel Academy Varsity Lady Eagles easily dispatched Fullington Academy Varsity Trojans on Tuesday, August 27, 11-5. The Lady Eagles got on the board in the top of the first inning after Payton Peebles singled, Kaley Flowers grounded out, and the Trojans committed an error, each scoring one run. The Lady Eagles extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third, thanks to RBI errors by Bailey McNure and Kate Yeomans. Aubrey Scott earned the win for David Emanuel Academy. The pitcher allowed three hits and four runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out nine and walking four. The starting pitcher went six innings, allowing 10 runs (six earned) on 13 hits, striking out three and walking one. Kyli Bell collected the save. The Lady Eagles tallied 13 hits in the game. Bell and Flowers each collected three hits for DEA. McNure, Peebles, and Flowers each drove in two runs. Scott collected two hits in four at bats.

Gibson and Jadyn Rose Nipper were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Fullington Academy. Izzy Ross went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Trojans in hits. Fullington Academy had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Morgan Causey and Gibson led the team with two walks each. The Trojans stole four bases in the game.
