The Veterans at the Library held their weekly meeting at the Franklin Memorial Library Monday morning, July 13, at 9 a.m. With Chair Johnny Tapley presiding, they had 30 in attendance. Librarian Shari Watt provided an outstanding breakfast consisting of bacon, eggs, cheese muffins, blueberry muffins and watermelon, orange juice, grape juice, cranberry juice, apple juice and coffee. Gary Mason presented a check to the Veterans at the Library from Daniels Chevrolet for $250.00 to be used for their ‘Wreaths Across America’ project this December. Tapley talked about the new Veterans Wall that is under construction at the Veterans and 1st Responders Memorial Park, and about Heritage Homestead. Be sure and be on the lookout for the flyer that you can use to honor your veteran on the new wall at the library.
