Durden Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Robert Wayne Gulledge, age 70, of Swainsboro, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Augusta University Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Friday, August 2, at 2 p.m. in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Reverend David Oliver officiating. Burial followed in the Bithynia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday, August 1, 6 to 8 p.m. at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers were Josh Robertson, Tim Harrell, Tyler Dawkins, Will Rogers, Joe Farmer and Robert McKenzie. Honorary pallbearers were the employees of Fulghum Industries.

Born September 26, 1953, in Alabama, to William R. and Margueritte Childs Gulledge, Wayne was a lifelong resident of Swainsboro. He attended Swainsboro High School and was an inventory Control Supervisor at Fulghum Industries. Wayne loved to work, but he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his job and his family. Mr. Gulledge is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Mary Ruth McKenzie Gulledge.

Survives include his daughter: Melissa Gulledge (Jeff) of Swainsboro; and granddaughter, Jenna Farmer.

Durden Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
