Skunk Brigade attends four Patriot Grave Markings

The Skunk Brigade of the Brier Creek Artillery, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution traveled 325 miles to Greensboro, NC to the Sheraton Four Seasons Koury Convention Center to attend the 136th Annual Congress, National Society Sons of the American on July 9 – 16. While attending the Congress they participated in four Patriot Grave Markings at different locations. The first Patriot Grave marking was on July 11 at the Alamance Presbyterian Church Cemetery (C-2129828) for Patriots Arthur Forbis (P-160155), Nathaniel Kerr (P-228969), John Paisley (P-264779), Sampson Stewart (P-297848), John Thom (P-305620). Second was also on July 11 at the Hillsborough Old Town cemetery (C-0376796) for William Hooper (P-184512), Anne Clark Hooper (P-347422), James Hogg (P-183058), William Elmore (P-348410), George Herndon (P-180124). Third was on July 15 at the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park (C-0371816) for John Daves (P-144111), Robert Dunlap (P-151356), Jesse Franklin (P-161614), Jethro Exum Sumner (P-300270), Andrew Wallace (P-312537). Fourth was on July 16 at the Pilgrims Church Cemetery (C-0371496) Capt. John Lopp (P-238439), Phillip Leonard (P-235591), Joseph Essig (P-346242), Christopher/Christ Etinger/Edinger/Eddinger/Ottinger (P-348412), Michael Sink (P-290527). We participated with the National Color Guard in all four Patriot Grave Markings and the one on July 16 we were able to fire their Flintlock rifles during the event.
