The Skunk Brigade, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution traveled to Screven County to present their Traveling Trunk Revolutionary War program at the Dell-Goodall House for the DAR’s Celebration of the America 250th DAR event on Saturday, June 20. The event began at 10 a.m. attended by around 150 members of the SAR and DAR Chapters and citizens of Screven County. Lee Herron, Don Bazemore, Bernard Martin, Dess Smith III, John Joyner, Steve Burke and Alton McCloud had their Traveling Trunk set up around 8:30 a.m. and answered questions about their Revolutionary War Ancestors, how they lived and fought, and all the items they had on their tables. The Brier Creek Artillery fired their six six-pounder cannons on the half-hour starting at 11:30 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. Congratulations to the Brier Creek DAR Chapter for an outstanding event.
