Skunk Brigade, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution traveled to Forsyth to present their Traveling Trunk Revolutionary War program to Forsyth–Monroe County on Sunday, June 14, as part of the Flag Day Celebration America 250th event. The event began at 1 p.m., attended by around 100 members of the SAR Chapters and citizens of Monroe County. Lee Herron, Steve Burke and Ted Walker had their Traveling Trunk set up around 10 a.m. and answered questions about their Revolutionary War Ancestors, how they lived and fought, and all the items they had on their tables. The Brier Creek Artillery, Ted Walker, Steve Burke and Lee Herron, fired their three six-pounder cannons on the hour starting at 11 a.m. through 1 p.m. and then three times each during the event program starting at 1 p.m. Starting at 1 p.m., the 250th Salute Event was held. Congratulations to Forsyth-Monroe County for an outstanding event.
