Mary Ann Peebles, 59

Mary Ann Henry Peebles, age 59, of Kite, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026, at her residence. Funeral Services were held Friday, September 11, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Henry officiating. Interment followed in Eastbrook Cemetery & Mausoleum.

Family received friends on Thursday, September 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Brandon Wright, Wayne Wright, Jr., A.J. Copeland, Michael Lee, Terron Pullen, Jr. and Gannon DeLoach.

Mary Ann was born April 12, 1967, in Swainsboro, to Lake Watson Henry and Glenda Marie Thomas Henry. She was the kind of woman you never had to wonder if she cared—she showed it in everything she did. Sissy had the sweetest soul and the biggest heart. She would give you the shirt off her back and would do anything she could to help someone, whether she knew you for years or had just met you. Loving people came naturally to her. She had a way of making people feel cared for, welcomed, and loved simply by being herself.

Family meant everything to Sissy. She was a proud mother to her two daughters and was absolutely crazy about her five grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her world, and anyone who knew her knew just how much joy they brought into her life. She treasured every moment with them and loved being there for them, talking about them, and making memories with them.

Sissy also shared a very special and close bond with her mother. Her mom was not only her mother, but someone she loved deeply and was incredibly close to. Their relationship was a beautiful part of Sissy’s life, and the love they shared will always remain.

For the past 12 years, Sissy shared her life with Arthur, who was by her side through so many seasons of her life. Their years together were filled with memories, love, and the everyday moments that become the most precious ones. Sissy had a way of loving the people in her life wholeheartedly, and Arthur was no exception. She cared for him deeply and always wanted to make sure he was okay, just as she did for everyone she loved.

To her daughters, she was more than a mother, she was their safe place, their biggest supporter, and someone they could always count on. Her love was unconditional, and her family never had to question how deeply she loved them.

Sissy leaves behind a lifetime of family, friends, and memories that will never be forgotten. Though her absence leaves a heartbreak that words cannot describe, the love she gave so freely will continue through the people she touched. She was truly one of a kind—a beautiful soul who loved deeply, gave freely, and never hesitated to be there for someone else. Her family will carry her love with them forever. Rest peacefully, Sissy. You were loved more than you could ever know. Ms. Peebles is preceded in death by her father; and grandson, Landon DeLoach.

Survivors include her mother; daughters, Crystal Cooper and Leann Cooper; brothers, Tommy Henry (Evelyn), Andy Henry (Leila) and Mark Henry (Donya); grandchildren, Breonna Wright, Cryshanti Wright, Ashlyn DeLoach, Kaylyn DeLoach and Gannon DeLoach; special friend, Arthur Copeland; several cousins, other family members, and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
